Dr Robert Gandy is an Upper GI, Bariatric, HPB and General Surgeon with significant clinical expertise in laparoscopic surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr Gandy has extensive experience in upper abdominal surgery, hernia surgery and endoscopy.
Dr Gandy’s speciality and research focus is providing high-quality personalised care to patients with abdominal disease, including those of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and stomach. Dr Gandy has one of Australia’s busiest hernia surgery clinics and works at two major weight loss surgery centres in Sydney.
Dr Gandy completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Leeds in 2002, Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006. In 2006, he commenced further surgical training in Australia, including Masters in upper GI Surgery, in 2010 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons following advanced surgical training, in 2015.
His post-fellowship training focused of surgery of the stomach, liver, pancreas and gallbladder, which resulted in accreditation with the Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand Hepatopancreatobiliary and Gastric & Oesophageal Surgery Association (AANZHPBA & AANZGOSA).
